Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Overnight Tractor Field Applicator to join our team in Santa Maria, CA. This role involves operating application equipment such as tractors and spray rigs to apply pesticides, fertilizers, and other crop protection products during overnight hours. Ideal candidates must have field experience, mechanical aptitude, and a strong understanding of agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate tractors and field application equipment during overnight shifts.
- Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides in accordance with label instructions and safety procedures.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate application records, including product usage and field data.
- Communicate with dispatch and field supervisors to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Follow all environmental and safety regulations, including PPE usage and chemical handling protocols.
- Assist with loading and unloading of chemicals and field equipment.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of application tools and materials after shift completion.
Requirements:
- Prior experience operating tractors or other agricultural machinery is required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a drug screening, E-Verify, and criminal background check.
- Strong understanding of crop protection products and safe handling procedures.
- Willingness to work overnight shifts and flexible hours as needed.
- Good physical condition; ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
- Applicator’s license or prior chemical application experience highly preferred.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
