What does this role involve?

As our Packaging Supervisor, you will be in a front-line management position, proficient in all packaging operations of the brewery. You oversee Packaging Line Lead and a dedicated team of packaging operators, fostering a culture of ownership, teamwork, and continuous process improvement. You'll work closely with our brewing, warehouse, maintenance and quality teams, collaborating across departments to ensure our fantastic beers are packaged safely and efficiently, every single time.

What You’ll Do

Lead, support, and develop our packaging operators, with the exciting opportunity to grow this team into a second shift as our operations expand.

Exhibit and maintain proficiency in packaging operations, including ensuring basic and routine maintenance, and equipment cleaning.

Act as Subject Matter Expert to CIP and operate any of the packaging equipment.

Oversee and take responsibility for shift qualitative and quantitative production goals for three (Bottle, Can, Keg) packaging lines.

Manage daily staffing, plan personnel schedules, and track hours efficiently.

Coordinate detailed packaging schedules with the Director of Brewing Operations and the Director of Supply Chain.

Express daily packaging runs in SAP system to account for finished goods inventory creation and raw materials/WIP depletion.

Maintain, track, and count raw material inventory on a period-by-period basis.

Participate in daily cross-department scrums.

Step in on the packaging line during absence, necessary overtime and facilitate lunch breaks to ensure smooth operations.

Ensure all equipment is operating safely, at maximum efficiency and maintained to the highest standards by supporting the maintenance department schedule. Submit work orders and elevate issues as necessary for optimum equipment function.

Track and reduce downtime, anticipate production bottlenecks, and support initiatives to reduce waste during manufacturing.

Create and modify comprehensive training resources and build the team’s technical knowledge while participating in the interview process for new team members.

Work directly with equipment suppliers to resolve issues and train operators.

Who We’re Looking For

5 or more years of proven leadership experience in a brewery or beverage production setting.

Degree or certification from a respected brewing institute (Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers, Siebel, UC-Davis, Heriot-Watt) ideal.

Qualifications in professional organizations such as the Master Brewers Association of the Americas (MBAA), American Society of Brewing Chemists (ASBC), or Chartered Institute of Brewers and Distillers (CIBD) are highly regarded.

Technical experience with both high-speed bottling and canning lines with a mechanical aptitude.

Experience with cGMP and understanding of HACCP and Food Safety Programs ideal.

Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Orchestrated Beer.

Strong coaching skills with a genuine passion for people and team development.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to extreme cold, extreme heat, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
