Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team, specializing in both residential and commercial painting projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes that meet our clients' expectations. A commitment to safety and quality workmanship is essential.
Responsibilities
Painting Duties:
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, scraping, and repairing holes or cracks.
- Prime and paint: interior and exterior surfaces, walls, doors, trim, and other surfaces.
- Choose appropriate tools (e.g., brushes, rollers, sprayers) for various painting tasks.
- Mix and match colors to ensure desired paint finishes.
- Conduct periodic inspections of painted areas to address touch-ups as needed.
- Safely remove outdated popcorn ceilings, protecting surrounding areas by covering floors and furniture, and ensuring proper cleanup and disposal of debris.
- Apply new ceiling textures or designs as per campus requirements.
- Comply with OSHA safety regulations.
- Follow health and safety regulations measures when handling flammable materials: thinners and solvents, ensure proper ventilation, use of protective equipment when working with hazardous substances such as fumes, dust, or chemicals.
- Wear protective gear, including gloves, respirators, masks, and eye protection.
- Ensure proper ventilation when removing popcorn ceilings or using strong paints/solvents.
- Follow safety protocols for working at heights, using proper fall protection equipment, ladders, scaffolding, or lifts in compliance with safety guidelines
- Utilize ergonomically sound techniques to prevent strain injuries from repetitive motions or awkward positions.
- Communicate with management to report structural or repair concerns
- Additional duties as needed.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a painter with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Experience with popcorn ceiling removal and application of ceiling textures/designs.
- Knowledge of various painting techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to install and finish drywall
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent oral/written communication at all levels professionally.
- Ability to read, write and understand English to interpret documents such as safety rules, policies, and procedure manuals.
- Cognitive Demands:
- Familiarity with safety standards, especially when working with hazardous materials.
- Self-starter, attentive to detail and possess excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to organize/prioritize office duties with flexibility/willingness to assist others.
- Competencies:
- Quality and precision painting projects, delivering consistent and detailed results
- Problem-solving skills and adept at interpreting various forms of instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
· Normal working hours: weekdays 7:00 am- 4:00 pm. Additional hours/weekends as needed.
· This role requires standing, climbing, and lifting for extended periods.
· Working both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Ability to lift and carry 75Lbs
