Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and project management skills, with a solid understanding of legal administrative tasks. This role involves supporting attorneys in various aspects of legal work, including research, document preparation, and client communication. The successful candidate will be proficient in using legal software.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and documentation.
- Conduct legal research.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents, correspondence, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
- Manage case files ensuring all documents are properly filed and easily accessible.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather information relevant to cases.
- Maintain an organized filing system for both electronic and paper documents.
- Collaborate with attorneys on project management tasks to ensure timely completion of assignments.
- Perform clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and handling correspondence.
- Prepare and file affirmative and defensive asylum application/
- Assist with filing for cancellation of removal and assemble supporting documentation.
- Draft, review, and organize applications for adjustment of status, consular processing, and waivers.
- Draft, detailed responses to RFE's and NOID's, ensuring timely and thorough submissions.
Qualifications
- Must have experience in Immigration law.
- Familiarity with securities law is a plus but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail in written communication.
- Ability to conduct thorough research and summarize findings effectively.
- Strong interviewing skills to extract relevant information from clients and witnesses.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
- Bilingual.
