We are looking for a reliable, flexible, energetic and fun barista who is interested in roasting coffee for our two coffee shops. We are seeking a long-term position at one of our two Cabin Coffee Co. locations in Ames, Iowa. We are looking for a positive, hard working person who desires to help with all aspects of a coffee shop from roasting coffee, making hot and cold drinks, making breakfast and lunch, and taking orders from our customers. We are looking for baristas to work 10-20 hours a week and are available to work 3-6 hour shifts between 5:30 AM - 3:30 PM and Saturdays and Sundays but not all weekends. We are seeking a person who thrives in an upbeat and fast paced environment and wants to contribute to a fun, positive and encouraging work environment.
The baristas at Cabin Coffee Co. - Ames will begin with training that will help our employees to feel prepared to offer great service, drinks and food to our customers. Duties will include:
- providing excellent service to our customers and community
- becoming knowledgeable and proficient at creating iced and blended cold drinks and beautiful and tasty hot drinks.
- opening procedures such as brewing coffee and baking breakfast items.
- closing procedures such as cleaning, prepping for the next day, counting the registers, etc.
- contributing to our team in a positive, supportive way.
- being able effectively communicate and work as an effective team member and to work at a fast pace.
- roasting coffee beans daily
- barista duties with a menu of great drinks and food items
- front of house and drive thru point of sale stations
- set up and complete catering orders
- manage inventory for the entire store
What type of person are we looking for? We are seeking an outgoing, positive, service-orientated and supportive person. The applicant needs to be goal orientated and driven to provide an excellent customer experience and a positive, encouraging and supportive work environment centered on team work. While barista skills are helpful, they are not required as we will provide training. We are a high volume coffee shop and our baristas will be expected to be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast pace environment. If you thrive on being busy, Cabin Coffee is for you.
Opening shifts may begin at 5:30 AM and closing shifts will likely be complete by 3:30 PM Monday through Saturday. We are open on Sunday from 8-1.
Pay will range from $10.00 - 10.50 per hour plus tips of $4.00-5.00 per hour. Employees also get to eat and drink for free while on the job.
