We are seeking a Part-Time Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a friendly, social gentleman with mild intellectual disabilities. He enjoys walking, running errands, and volunteering at a local hospital 2-3 several times a week. Your role will be to help him thrive by encouraging independence, providing transportation, and offering social and communication support while out in the community.
About the Role:
- Provide dependable and patient support in the community.
- Assist with transportation to/from volunteer opportunities and community outings.
- Encourage independence and positive social interactions
- Communicate clearly and offer gentle social prompting.
- Be a positive role model and follow volunteer-site guidance.
- Be physically able to walk and stand throughout the shift.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license, insurance, registration, and reliable vehicle
- Able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
- Willing to complete background checks
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is a plus
Schedule & Pay:
- 18-22 hours per week
- Two days per week volunteering, plus additional flexible hours as needed
- No weekends required!
- $18/hour plus on the job mileage reimbursement.
