Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Spanish Teacher to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching Spanish at various levels, with the ability to engage students in a dynamic learning environment. This role requires expertise in curriculum development and a commitment to fostering literacy education and language acquisition among students.
Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and promote language proficiency.
- Utilize various teaching methodologies, including creative writing, instructional design, and learning technology to enhance student engagement.
- Manage classroom dynamics effectively, employing behavior management techniques to create a positive learning atmosphere.
- Provide mentoring and academic advising to students, supporting their individual learning needs and goals.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing and provide constructive feedback to foster improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Maintain organized records of student performance and communicate effectively with parents regarding academic progress.
- Incorporate elements of linguistics and literacy education into lessons to deepen students' understanding of the Spanish language.
- Be able to make learning fun and engaging with cultural arts and crafts, interactive songs, and age-appropriate worksheets designed just for kids.
Experience
- Proven experience working with students in a classroom setting, preferably in higher education or private school environments.
- Strong background in teaching Spanish, with familiarity in AP style, Chicago Manual of Style, copy editing, proofreading, and research skills.
- Experience in special education or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong organizational skills to manage lesson planning and classroom activities effectively.
