Description


The Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of payroll processing to ensure accurate and timely compensation of employees in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role will lead payroll operations, maintain payroll systems, and collaborate with HR and Finance teams to support organizational goals.


Key Responsibilities


  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for 500+ employees across multiple locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to payroll, tax reporting, and employee compensation.
  • Maintain and update payroll systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
  • Supervise payroll staff and provide training, guidance, and performance feedback.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate benefit deductions, bonuses, and other compensation elements.
  • Prepare and review payroll reports, including audits, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with external vendors for payroll software, tax filings, and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
  • Stay current on changes in payroll laws and best practices.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 5+ years of payroll experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems (ADP).
  • In-depth understanding of payroll tax laws, wage and hour laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) certification preferred.
Working Conditions:
  • Hybrid or on-site work environment depending on company policy.
  • May require occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., year-end processing).
