Position Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Specialist to join our growing finance team. In this role, you'll be responsible for managing and processing payroll accurately and on timely basis, supporting compliance with tax regulations, and maintaining employee payroll records.
The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of payroll best practices, exceptional attention to detail, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. This role is critical in ensuring our employees are paid correctly and on schedule while supporting the accuracy and integrity of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- processing biweekly payroll using Workday and ADP workforce
- Partner with HR to guarantee all new hires are processed and onboarded in ADP payroll systems
- Ensure that employees' paychecks are accurate and necessary deductions and contributions are correct.Manage HR/Benefits transactions impacting payroll, including leaves of absence, retroactive payments, and retirement plan loans.
- Verify and process onboarding/offboarding information, pay results, and tax/payment elections.
- Handle payroll-related invoices, including research, verification, and basic reconciliations.
- rint and distribute payroll checks and year-end forms (W-2) and 1099 as needed.
- Support quarterly and year-end activities such as tax filings, ,941 payroll reconciliations, and W-2 and 1099 processing.
- Manage confidential payroll mail, including collection, sorting, distribution, and necessary actions.
- Respond promptly and professionally to payroll-related inquiries via the payroll email inbox.
- Assist in new hire training and orientations related to payroll.
- Review and update payroll processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Provide support and coverage for other payroll functions or special projects as required.
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a related administrative role
- Familiarity with payroll processes, timekeeping systems, and basic payroll regulations
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism
- Effective communication skills and a customer-service mindset
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Must be comfortable with Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Workday) is a plus
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Salary: $65,000 - $75,000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.25 - $36.05 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
