Payroll Supervisor
Job description
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Supervisor to lead the day-to-day delivery of accurate and timely payroll services. In this role, you’ll support the payroll team, oversee payroll processing and help ensure compliance across a diverse workforce in the mining and construction industries.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and supporting the payroll team, including managing workloads and resolving complex queries
- Overseeing end-to-end payroll processing and checking payroll accuracy before finalisation
- Supporting the processing of new starters, staff movements and terminations
- Ensuring payroll practices align with company policies, awards, enterprise agreements and legislative requirements
- Working with stakeholders to resolve payroll and timesheet issues
- Assisting with month-end payroll reporting and identifying opportunities to improve processes
Key skills, knowledge and experience required:
- Strong experience in end-to-end payroll processing, with experience supervising or mentoring payroll staff
- Experience with a trade or FIFO workforce and timesheet administration
- Sound knowledge of awards, enterprise agreements and payroll compliance
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong systems experience; ADP, HR3 or Kronos experience is an advantage
- Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and PivotTables
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
