We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Peer Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have personal experience with recovery and a strong desire to support others in their journey towards wellness. As a Peer Coach, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and resources to individuals facing challenges related to mental health, addiction, or behavioral health issues. Your role will be pivotal in fostering a supportive environment that promotes personal growth and recovery.
Duties
- Provide one-on-one mentoring and support to individuals navigating their recovery journey.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to assist clients in managing acute situations effectively.
- Employ motivational interviewing strategies to empower clients in setting and achieving personal goals.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on skill-building, coping strategies, and shared experiences.
- Collaborate with social work and mental health professionals to create comprehensive support plans.
- Assist clients in accessing community resources and services related to addiction counseling and behavioral health.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client progress and interactions while ensuring confidentiality.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance coaching skills.
Requirements
- Personal experience with recovery or mental health challenges is essential.
- Strong understanding of crisis management principles and techniques.
- Familiarity with systems related to addiction counseling, social work, and mental health counseling.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Experience in mentoring or coaching roles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of behavioral health practices and resources within the community.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.

Pay: $17.11 - $17.80 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
