Job Summary
Little Roots Learning, LLC is seeking reliable, nurturing, and flexible per diem substitute teachers to join our early childhood education team. This position will provide on-call coverage in our infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed, supporting our full-time teachers and ensuring continuity of care and learning.
Duties
- Provide a warm, responsive, and developmentally appropriate environment for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
- Follow lesson plans and daily routines set by the classroom teacher or program director.
- Engage in meaningful play, support social-emotional learning, and assist with transitions throughout the day.
- Ensure the health, safety, and supervision of children at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Communicate respectfully with children, staff, and families.
- Follow Vermont child care licensing regulations and program policies.
Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in early childhood education preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a licensed child care or school setting is a plus.
- Must pass Vermont fingerprint and background checks.
- Completion of Vermont Mandated Reporter Training required (can be completed upon hire).
- CPR/First Aid certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Schedule:
This is an on-call, per diem position. Hours and days vary depending on program needs and your availability. Substitutes may be contacted in advance or on the day of an absence.
Compensation:
Hourly pay based on experience and qualifications.
