Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pet Sitter to provide exceptional care for pets in their own environment. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and the ability to handle various types of pets, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being while their owners are away. This role requires reliability, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for pets, including feeding, walking, and administering medication as needed.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of pets during visits or overnight stays.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for pets, including cleaning up after them.
- Engage with pets through playtime and exercise to promote their physical and mental health.
- Communicate regularly with pet owners regarding their pet's status and any concerns that may arise.
- Handle various types of animals with care, including dogs, cats, and potentially equine or exotic pets.
- Record any incidents or changes in behavior that may require attention from the pet owner or a veterinarian.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in pet care or animal handling is preferred.
- Knowledge of veterinary practices or experience as a veterinary technician is a plus.
- Familiarity with dog training techniques is advantageous for managing behavior effectively.
- Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with pet owners.
- Ability to handle various breeds and sizes of animals safely and confidently.
- Certification in pet first aid or CPR is desirable but not required.
- Flexibility in scheduling to accommodate the needs of pet owners, including weekends and holidays when necessary.
