General Summary
- Coordinate the day to day flow in the customer service area. Provide positive and timely resolution to patients’ complaints. Monitor online requests and assist with answering inbound calls. Follow up on customer outbound calls/inquiries when needed, and help to maintain accurate demographic and insurance information on accounts.
Minimum Qualifications
Required Licensure or Certification
- None required.
Required Length and Type of Experience
- Minimum 3 years of customer service experience.
- Minimum 1 year of billing experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Possess computer system knowledge.
- Knowledge of healthcare patient accounting and healthcare insurance coverage.
- Previous customer service experience preferably in a hospital or medical setting.
- Confidential and good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proper use of standard office equipment.
Required Physical and Environmental Demands
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Manual dexterity to use a PC for extended periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Provide positive and timely resolution to patients’ inquiries, via phone, mail and online submissions.
- Supply the 3rd party companies with proper documentation and answer any questions they may have.
- Monitor any payments plans to ensure compliance by the patient and the hospital.
- Identify problem accounts, investigate and corrects errors to patient accounts.
- Maintain an understanding of third-party billing regulations.
- Carry out job duties in full compliance with ARMC’s Corporate Compliance Program and Code of Conduct.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
