Position Summary:
The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist coordinates the development, implementation, and management of pharmacy information systems, automation, other program areas and special projects that impact the organization and the medication use process.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy
- Montana Licensure (Pharmacist)
- American Heart Association BLS required within one year of hire
- American Heart Association ACLS required within one year of hire
- Preferred: PharmD or M.S. in Pharmacy
- Preferred: Previous clinical pharmacist and/or informatics specialist experience
- Preferred: Previous experience with the administration of automated dispensing cabinet databases
Essential Job Functions:
- Supports development, implementation, integration, and maintenance of technology to optimize medication use process.
- Promotes effective communication concerning medication use applications.
- Provides support, guidance, and prioritization of informatics workload to pharmacy leadership and pharmacy and informatics systems support personnel.
- Supports advancement of pharmacy technology and automation.
- Ensures pharmacy systems are compliant with and support regulatory guidelines.
- Provides development and provision of training and staff development materials and processes related to pharmacy technology and automation.
