Open Position:
Quantum STEAM Academy is now accepting applications for a Full-Time Physical Education Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year.
Qualifications:
Valid MN License for Physical Education Teaching is required or in the process for getting a license through PELSB. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Position Description:
This position requires teacher to perform all of the essential functions of a Physical Education Teaching including but not limited to planning and delivering instruction, behavior and management while in GYM, ensure a safe environment during sports and Gym activities, collaboration with homeroom teachers and team members, communication with parents, proper supervision as needed, and participating in some afterschool commitments such as Parent/Teacher conferences, school picnics, graduation ceremony, culture nights and other duties as assigned
Requirements:
This job requires a Valid MN Education Teaching License. School will apply for Candidates with a Bs. degree for a Tier 1 Teaching License.
Teacher Duties:
· Identify individual and collective learning needs of students for Physical Education.
· Build Sports Teams and collaboration with other schools
· Use various assessment tools to evaluate and communicate student progress
· Informally and formally assess students’ skill levels and goals
· Monitor, record, and review each student’s progress on a regular basis and access short and long-term goals.
· Plan and deliver instruction based on Minnesota Standards and student learning needs
· Align the curriculum to Minnesota Standards
· Serve as role models for students and students learn appropriate knowledge, skills and attitudes
· Maintain accurate, complete and confidential records as required by law, administrative regulations and district policy
· Meet and communicate with parents on a regular basis
· Attend evening meetings, events and activities as assigned
· Meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress
· Organize and direct the work of teacher assistants and/or paraprofessionals and parent volunteers
· Other duties as assigned
