Job Summary
The Police Officer is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, maintaining public order, protecting life and property, preventing crime, and fostering positive community relations. This position performs duties in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws.
Duties
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or in a vehicle to deter and detect criminal activity.
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and incidents, providing assistance as needed.
- Conduct thorough investigations of crimes, gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and preparing reports.
- Enforce traffic laws and regulations, issuing citations when necessary.
- Engage with community members to build trust and foster positive relationships.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies when required for investigations or operations.
- Attend training sessions to stay updated on law enforcement techniques, policies, and procedures.
- Participate in community outreach programs to promote public safety awareness.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing in the State of Michigan.
- Must be a United States Citizen.
- Must not have any felony convictions.
- Possess a valid State of Michigan Operator’s License.
- Must pass an interview, full background investigation, physical examination, drug screening, and psychological examination.

Pay: $57,264.00 - $72,050.00 per year
