Could you be the full-time Power Supply Design Senior Engineer in Cairo we’re looking for?

More Than a Job: A Mission

We are looking for a passionate Power Supply Design Senior Engineer to design and develop advanced traction power systems that drive the future of sustainable mobility. You will collaborate with dedicated teams to deliver reliable, efficient, and safe energy solutions for rail networks across Egypt and beyond.

Your Role, Your Impact

  • Lead the design and optimization of traction power supply systems ensuring scalability and compliance with international standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate power systems with signaling, rolling stock, and infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliability and performance through detailed simulation, load flow analysis, and fault studies using tools like ETAP or PSCAD.
  • Drive innovation by implementing energy-efficient technologies and digital monitoring solutions for predictive maintenance.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and technical mentoring within the engineering community to strengthen design excellence.

You'll work with sharp, committed teams solving complex challenges that shape the future of mobility, ensuring seamless integration of business and technology.

What You Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 5-7 years of experience in the electrical design field, with railway experience preferred
  • Experience in electrical power distribution design (e.g., space program, cable routing, earthing design, equipment sizing, calculations for voltage drop, short circuit, power factor, and selectivity), both manually and using software (e.g., ETAP, SKM, Ecodial, E-design)
  • Proficiency in drafting software (e.g., AutoCAD, Draftsight)
  • Knowledge of electrical power equipment specifications (e.g., MVSGs, transformers, LV panels, cables, UPSs, and generators)
  • Basic understanding of automation and communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, IEC61850, Ethernet IP)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage technical issues

How Success Is Measured

  • On-time delivery of design packages aligned with project milestones.
  • Effective collaboration and communication across engineering and project teams.
  • Reduction in design errors and improved system efficiency through innovation.

Alstom, A Great Place to Grow

  • Work with cutting-edge rail electrification technologies shaping the future of mobility.
  • Contribute to projects that have a tangible impact on Egypt’s transportation infrastructure.
  • Access continuous learning and development programs to advance your career.

Here, progress isn't always easy but the impact is real. Because the scale is massive, the tasks are complex when the system runs, the train moves, and the city connects that feeling stays with you. And the legacy lasts.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
