Position Summary:
We are a leading, high-volume cardiology practice seeking an experienced Practice Manager with a strong financial background to lead the financial operations of our organization. With over 100 employees and 25 providers, this role is critical in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of our growing practice. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in healthcare finance, revenue cycle management, and data-driven decision-making—ideally in a specialty medical group environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Oversight & Planning:
- Develop, implement, and manage the practice’s annual operating budget in coordination with executive leadership.
- Monitor and analyze financial performance including monthly P&L, balance sheets, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide timely financial reporting, cash flow projections, and variance analysis to support informed decision-making.
- Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for savings and increased efficiency.
Revenue Cycle & Billing Management:
- Oversee the full revenue cycle, including patient billing, coding, collections, insurance verification, and denial management.
- Ensure optimal reimbursement through payer contract review, charge capture accuracy, and workflow improvement.
- Collaborate closely with billing supervisors and coding staff to reduce AR days and improve clean claims rate.
- Maintain up-to-date understanding of cardiology-specific billing codes, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and CMS regulations.
Strategic Financial Leadership:
- Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and physician partners on financial strategy, risk management, and investment decisions.
- Evaluate the financial impact of new services, locations, technology, and staffing models.
- Support financial modeling and pro formas for business expansion, equipment purchases, or real estate planning.
Team & Operational Collaboration:
- Supervise finance team members, and coordinate with HR, clinical operations, and department heads on budget-related matters.
- Support staffing models and compensation planning aligned with practice goals and patient volume trends.
- Manage vendor relationships and purchasing to ensure cost-effective procurement of medical and office supplies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or Healthcare Management (Master’s or MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience in a large medical practice or multi-provider specialty group.
- Strong understanding of cardiology billing and coding practices, including CPT, ICD-10, and payer-specific rules.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, EHR and PM systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athenahealth, NextGen, Epic), and accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks).
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to communicate effectively with physicians and administrative teams.
Preferred Credentials:
- CMPE or FACMPE (Medical Group Management Association) or similar healthcare finance certification.
- Prior experience managing financial operations in cardiology or high-acuity specialties (e.g., neurology, orthopedics, oncology).
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance, MACRA/MIPS, and quality-based reimbursement models.
Salary Range: $150k plus bonus
