Children's Playhouse is seeking a passionate and dedicated Substitute Pre-K Counts Teacher to join our team. The Substitute Teacher will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and care to Pre-K Counts students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that promotes children's social, emotional, and academic development.
This is an immediate opening with a guaranteed contract through June 30th, 2025, and the potential for contract renewal for the 2025-2026 school year.
Responsibilities:
- Implement lesson plans and instructional activities as directed by the regular classroom teacher.
- Provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment for children.
- Supervise and interact with children during all activities, including circle time, small group instruction, free play, and outdoor play.
- Assess children's progress and provide feedback to the regular classroom teacher.
- Maintain classroom management and positive discipline strategies.
- Communicate effectively with children, families, and colleagues.
- Utilize daily prep time without children to prepare for lessons and classroom activities.
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
- LEVEL I certification.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check and other required clearances.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00 pm
- Daily prep time without children
Benefits:
- Competitive salary: $50,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and educational background.
