The Assistant Preschool teacher must have a passion for working with children ages 4-5 and relating with their families. The candidate must also demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and support the doctrines and bi-laws of Crestview Community Church. The candidate should be dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for each student. They should have a compassionate attitude and a strong understanding of child development.
Key Responsibilities
- Type, print, and make copies of beginning-of-the-year forms, including:
Internet form
T-shirt order form
Class directory (for teachers and parents)
Tuition class list
Class list
- Assemble and distribute Scholastic book order forms and submit monthly book orders
- Assist with cleaning and decorating the classroom
- Prepare classroom supplies (e.g., construction paper, crayons, pencils, glue, etc.)
- Schedule field trips and coordinate transportation/logistics
- Arrange for guest speakers and manage scheduling
- Update and print the monthly classroom newsletter
- Rotate and update classroom decorations monthly or seasonally
- Plan, prepare, and implement art lessons 2–4 times per month
- Plan, prepare, and implement small group lessons 2–4 times per month
- Support individual students with one-on-one learning activities as needed
- Assist in collecting tuition payments
- Build positive relationships with parents and serve as a point of contact before and after school
- Set up learning materials and student papers for daily lessons
- Prepare the classroom for story time by setting out rugs
- Set out snacks and wash cups following snack time
- Take photos throughout the year and create a slideshow for the end-of-year graduation ceremony
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in early childhood education
- Strong understanding of child development principles and early childhood education best practices.
- Excellent communication, and organizational skills.
- Committed to Christian values and fostering a faith-based educational environment.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 per week
