At Play Smart, we believe that play is the foundation of learning. Our preschool program is designed to nurture each child’s natural curiosity and creativity through hands-on, child-led experiences. We provide a warm, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment that supports the whole child-socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. We are seeking a passionate, nurturing, and enthusiastic preschool teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child development, value a play-based and relationship—driven approach, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
Key responsibilities:
- Create and implement developmentally appropriate, play-based lesson plans that align with the school’s philosophy.
- Foster a warm, welcoming, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support children’s social-emotional development through responsive and respectful interactions.
- Observe and document children’s progress and learning through play
- Communicate regularly with families and provide updates on children’s experiences
- Collaborate with team members to plan, reflect, and problem-solve
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment.
- Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (or working toward one) or Child Development Credential
- Minimum one year experience working with young children
- Familiarity with play-based approach
- Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Must meet state licensing requirements
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
