Morgan Steel, LLC is seeking a skilled Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. The Press Brake Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines to bend, shape, and fabricate metal components to precise specifications. The ideal candidate will have experience in metal fabrication, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to quality and safety in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend, punch, and shape metal components according to job specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to determine machine setup and bending sequences.
- Adjust machine settings, including back gauge, ram depth, and angle controls, to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Perform first-piece inspections and ongoing quality checks to maintain tight tolerances.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products using appropriate handling equipment.
- Troubleshoot machine malfunctions and make minor adjustments or repairs as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, adhering to company safety protocols.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production deadlines and efficiency goals.
- Identify and report any material defects, machine issues, or safety concerns to supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Familiarity with measuring instruments such as calipers, and micrometers.
- Basic understanding of metal types, bend allowances, and machine operation principles.
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
