Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Prior Authorization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Prior Authorization Specialist will be responsible for obtaining prior authorizations for medical procedures and medications.
Responsibilities
- Obtain prior authorizations for medical procedures and medications
- Communicate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to ensure timely approval of authorizations
- Review medical records and insurance policies to determine eligibility for authorization
- Maintain accurate records of authorizations and follow-up with providers and insurance companies as needed
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers

Requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a prior authorization role
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance policies
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer programs
Physical Requirements
- Requires the effective use of office equipment including, but not limited to, computers, phones, and printers
- Ability to sit at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods of time
- Ability to communicate via phone and in person in an active office environment
- Must be able to lift to 50 pounds at times
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
