(R/M), we’re looking for a detail-driven Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality survey services while working closely with project managers, team leaders, and clients. This position is primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork, depending on project needs. You’ll support a variety of municipal and civil engineering projects through research, QA/QC, and integration of survey data into project designs—all within a 100% employee-owned firm that values innovation and mentorship.

Goals & Responsibilities
This position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and clients on survey-related projects and deliverables.
- Prepare survey documents, including plats of survey, CSMs, ALTA/ACSM surveys, easements, and legal descriptions.
- Conduct deed and legal description research to ensure survey accuracy and compliance.
- Review and provide QA/QC on the work of survey staff to maintain high standards.
- Support project workflows through estimating, scoping, and billing coordination.
- Oversee or assist with construction staking and layout for various civil engineering projects.
- Collect and organize site documentation, including plats, as-builts, boring logs, and land use records.
- Conduct site visits and data collection to support survey and design efforts.
- Prepare documentation for existing condition reports and right-of-way plats, including legal descriptions for land acquisition.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate survey data into project designs and maintain accuracy.
- Participate in fieldwork as needed, adhering to safety protocols and operating in all weather conditions.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following education, experience, and abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in Land Surveying or a related field.
- Wisconsin Registered Land Surveyor (RLS/PLS) license or eligibility to take the Wisconsin exam.
- 2–5 years of experience as a PLS with a background in topographic, construction, boundary, ALTA/ACSM, ROW, and subdivision surveys.
- Proficiency with Trimble GPS and Total Station systems and familiarity with a broad range of field equipment.
- Skilled in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Microsoft Office, and ideally Trimble Business Center.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control and accuracy.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Interest in adopting new technologies and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ability to complete tasks efficiently while ensuring field safety and compliance.
