Pay: $30.00 – $35.00 per hour, DOQ (Depending on Qualifications)

The City of O'Fallon is seeking enthusiastic and skilled individuals to serve as Fitness Instructors for our land and water-based fitness classes. Position Overview:
This position provides instruction in specialized land or aquatic fitness classes. Instructors are responsible for leading safe, engaging, and effective workouts while ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
Major Duties:
Instruct a variety of land or water-based fitness classes to individuals of varying skill levels.
Deliver high-quality, safe, and inclusive workouts.
Provide first aid and emergency response when necessary.
Attend mandatory in-service training sessions.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of basic fitness principles and safe exercise practices.
Knowledge of CPR and first aid procedures.
Skill in decision-making and problem-solving.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to read, write, and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of high school or equivalent.
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles of fitness instruction-typically gained through one to two years in a similar role or through completion of an apprenticeship/internship.
Specialized training and certification in a fitness discipline from a nationally recognized organization (e.g., ACE, AFAA, NASM, ACSM, Aqua Zumba, etc.).
