General Responsibilities\:The Program Manager I will serve as an Expert Inclusion Specialist for the National Center on Health, Physical Activity and Disability (NCHPAD) funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The Program Manager I will respond to inquiries, including a range of content or resource questions received by NCHPAD via telephone, website, email, or personal contact; conduct searches when necessary to answer inquiries, and catalog resources and information on physical activity, nutrition, mental health, outdoor recreation, and other wellness-related topics for people with disabilities and assist with updating NCHPAD directories; serve as a health coach for NCHPAD health promotion programs; and serve as an advocate for people with disabilities and act as a direct liaison between NCHPAD and people with disabilities and their caregivers. The position will work closely with the NCHPAD Call Center, the Participant Engagement Coordinator, and the Community Engagement and Communication teams to facilitate participant communication, resource development, partnership activities, and content development activities for the Center.
Key Duties & Responsibilities\: 1. Responds to inquiries made via the NCHPAD hotline, website, email, or other forms of contact. 2. Conducts necessary searches to address inquiries and catalogs resources and information on various topics related to health, wellness, and disability. 3. Assists with updating NCHPAD directories and identifying resources and opportunities that support participation of people with disabilities in health-enhancing activities. 4. Serves as an advocate for people with disabilities and a direct liaison between NCHPAD and people with disabilities and their caregivers. 5. Serves as a health coach for NCHPAD health promotion programs and helps participants navigate their wellness journey. 6. Works with the Participant Engagement Coordinator, NCHPAD Call Center, and Community Engagement team to strategize and implement participant communication activities across the Center. 7. Works with the Communication and Video team to develop content on various topics related to health, wellness, and disability, with particular emphasis on mental health, outdoor recreation, sport, fitness, and inclusive physical activity. 8. Supports the development and adaptation of health and wellness programs and resources through the GRAIDS process, including resources related to sport, fitness, and inclusive recreation. 9. Develops and supports resources, projects, and partnerships related to sport and fitness, including contributions to the ACSM Certified Inclusive Fitness Trainer (CIFT) initiative. This includes developing resource content and contributing to needs assessments, training, and technical assistance activities as assigned. 10. Supports community partnerships and represents NCHPAD at relevant meetings, conferences, and professional activities that promote disability inclusion in health, fitness, recreation, and wellness. Performs other duties as assigned. 11. Develops and leads NCHPAD's mental health focus area by building and expanding resources, content, partnerships, and programming related to mental health and disability. Integrates mental health considerations throughout NCHPAD's focus sectors and participant engagement activities, ensuring mental health is embedded across relevant health, wellness, physical activity, and inclusion initiatives.12. Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Pay Range\: $43,890 – $71,320
