Position Overview:
Total-Western, Inc. is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Project Controls Coordinator to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for supporting project management teams in the planning, scheduling, and controlling of all project activities, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. You will play a key role in analyzing project performance, identifying risks, and providing accurate data to help drive informed decision-making. This position will allow you to contribute to the continued success and growth of our operations while upholding our commitment to excellence, safety, and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Scheduling: Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, ensuring all project milestones and deadlines are met. Collaborate with project managers and team members to identify project dependencies and manage timelines effectively.
Cost Control: Assist with monitoring project budgets, tracking costs, and ensuring that financial resources are used efficiently. Prepare and maintain cost reports to support project decision-making.
Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and work with the project team to develop mitigation strategies. Proactively report any potential delays or budget overruns to senior management.
Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders, detailing project status, timelines, and budget updates. Maintain all project control documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with company standards.
Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure project controls are aligned with project goals. Facilitate communication between different departments and stakeholders to resolve any project-related issues.
Change Management: Support the change management process by tracking changes in scope, cost, and schedule, and ensuring all modifications are documented and communicated effectively.
Data Analysis and Forecasting: Analyze project data to identify trends and forecast project outcomes. Use this information to provide recommendations for improvements and adjustments to ensure project success.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in project controls, project management, or related roles within industrial construction or a similar field.
Technical Skills: Proficient in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar). Strong Excel skills for data analysis, forecasting, and reporting.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound decisions based on it.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports and interact with both internal teams and external clients.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail, ensuring all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in the construction, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
Certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP) or Project Controls (e.g., AACE).
Knowledge of project control systems and processes, including cost estimation and risk management.
Work Environment:
This position is primarily office-based, with occasional travel to project sites as needed. A hybrid work arrangement may be considered, depending on the project requirements and business needs. The role may require extended work hours to meet project deadlines.
Reporting Structure:
The Project Controls Coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager or Project Controls Manager and work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and construction departments.
Compensation & Benefits:
Salary Range: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
