Under direct supervision, manages the overall delivery of a project from initiation through completion. To manage the day-to-day operations of programs and projects led by the Office of Research and Partnerships, specifically.
- Leads the implementation of projects; coordinates the activities of a project team, identifies appropriate resources, and develops schedules to ensure timely completion of the project.
- Partners with project sponsors, senior leaders, and key stakeholders to determine project goals and priorities.
- Manages project expectations with stakeholders, sponsors and others as appropriate; advises on project progress, potential issues, obstacles, risk, conflicts or challenges.
- Provides project status updates to Senior Project Manager and/or Functional Area Manager as required.
- Monitors performance and recommends schedule changes, cost adjustments or project resource additions to ensure quality standards are met for all project deliverables.
- Conduct outreach and communicate with the community (residents, nonprofits, and other stakeholders)
- Develop projects and programs in collaboration with community partners and Office of Research and Partnerships Associate Dean.
- Implement project/program activities according to plans and protocols, such as facilitating community meetings (world café conversations, community engagement studios, focus groups); organizing meetings; implementing interventions, assessing process and outcomes of project/program activities.
- Serve as a strategic thinking partner, conceptualizing project/program activities, writing grant proposals, identifying opportunities for innovation and impact.
- Work with project/program team members, faculty, and staff from the UT School of Public Health; attend staff meetings and be an active member of the school.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of expenditures, ensure privacy of data collected, prepare progress reports, and plan office and school events with attention to detail, among other administrative tasks.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- Experience and knowledge of standardized project management tools and methodologies.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant project management software and all Microsoft Office business supporting applications.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated community engagement and/or community-based participatory research experience. Familiar with the literature and practice of community engagement.
- Knowledge of and experience with San Antonio, Bexar County, and South Texas.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, initiative and strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively on projects or in work group and improve workflows.
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field is required.
Experience:
- Five (5) years of related experience is required.
