Symal Infrastructure is growing its Renewables team and is seeking an accomplished Project Manager to lead the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project approximately two hours north of Adelaide.

This is more than a single project opportunity. Symal is building a strong national pipeline of project professionals who want to work across renewable energy, Wind and BESS projects in regional and remote locations throughout Australia.

The Project

You will take the lead on a BESS project valued at approximately $2 million, with an expected duration of 6–7 months.

You will be responsible for leading a team of approximately 4–5 engineers, coordinating site supervision and working closely with the broader Symal project and business leadership team to ensure successful delivery.

You'll have the autonomy to lead from the front, while being backed by an experienced wider business and strong technical support.

What you'll be doing

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of the BESS project.
• Manage and mentor a team of 4–5 engineers.
• Coordinate and support site supervisors and project personnel.
• Manage subcontractors, suppliers and key project stakeholders.
• Drive project performance across safety, quality, cost, program and delivery.
• Manage client and stakeholder relationships.
• Identify and proactively manage project risks and opportunities.
• Ensure project milestones and commercial objectives are achieved.
• Provide strong leadership across the project team.
• Work collaboratively with the broader Symal Renewables business.
• Contribute to the development of future Wind and BESS projects across Australia.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a proven Project Manager who can step into a regional renewable energy project and make an immediate impact.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• Demonstrated experience as a Project Manager delivering major construction or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in renewables, BESS, Wind, transmission, utilities or major infrastructure will be highly regarded.
• Strong experience managing subcontractors, consultants and project stakeholders.
• Proven ability to lead engineering and site-based teams.
• Strong commercial, financial and contractual awareness.
• Demonstrated experience managing project programs, budgets, risks and delivery outcomes.
• The ability to operate confidently in regional or remote project environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach to project delivery.
• A genuine willingness to work on regional and remote renewable energy projects.

• 10/4-style rosters
• Other project-specific arrangements
