About Us:
At Mecca Design, we bring brands to life through immersive tradeshow booths, pop-ups, and experiential event spaces. Our clients include some of the world’s most recognizable names—Amazon, L’Oréal, Capital One, and Spotify—often in collaboration with top-tier marketing agencies. Every day is different, and no two projects are alike. We don’t just build spaces—we build moments people remember.
The Opportunity:
We’re seeking a Project Manager with a background in custom fabrication or tradeshow builds—someone who understands how things are made, how long it takes, what it costs, and what can go wrong. You’ll own projects from kickoff through install, with direct responsibility for managing timelines, budgets, materials, drawings, vendor coordination, and on-site execution. You’ll work closely with our internal design and production teams as well as outside partners and clients.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Manage custom tradeshow and event builds from initial client handoff through fabrication, shipping, and on-site install
- Read and interpret fabrication drawings, renderings, and build specs to align production timelines with design intent
- Work closely with our fabrication team to identify materials, finishes, construction techniques, and hardware solutions that meet budget, timeline, and durability goals
- Maintain detailed production schedules, track progress, and update clients and internal teams regularly
- Develop and manage budgets for each project, including material costs, labor, rentals, freight, and install expenses
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, and union labor to execute installations across various venues and cities
- Travel on-site for select installations to supervise setup, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality control
- Manage change orders and scope adjustments quickly and professionally
- Ensure projects meet client expectations, venue requirements, and Mecca’s internal quality standards
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years of project management experience in the tradeshow, custom fabrication, events, or experiential design industry
- Ability to read and interpret construction/fabrication drawings, CAD files, renderings, and shop sketches
- Familiarity with materials such as wood, aluminum, acrylic, vinyl graphics, lighting, and AV components
- Strong budgeting and timeline management skills—you know how long things should take and what they should cost
- Excellent communication skills with both creative and technical teams
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling 4–8 active projects at once
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours as needed around show schedules
Nice to Have:
- Experience with production software (e.g., Monday.com, HubSpot, QuickBooks, Basecamp, or similar)
- Understanding of electrical integration (LEDs, monitors, power drops) and show service coordination
- Previous hands-on fabrication, shop, or design experience
