Responsibilities
- Qualify prospective tenants using background checks and references
- Respond to tenant, owner, inspector inquiries
- Maintain deep knowledge of the local market and housing trends
- Negotiate leasing terms and close deals, lease renewals
- Inspect properties on a regular basis and schedule necessary maintenance/repairs
- Provide administrative support and other duties as assigned
- Follow all Equal Housing Opportunity guidelines, local laws, and company policies
- Meet with office and maintenance staff
- Coordinate maintenance and unit make ready schedule
- Move in and move out check lists, pictures, etc.
- Attend mediations, hearings, meetings, and eviction proceedings
- Investigate complaints
- Prepare violation letters, KAPA notices, notice of lease terminations
- Meet with leasing, accounting, housing coordinator, and other staff to get action items completed
- Meet with owner regularly to forecast goals of operation
- Proven working experience in property management
- High school diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Property Management or Real Estate Broker's License preferred
- Deep understanding of real estate law and leasing practices
- Up-to-date on the local real estate market
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and sales skills
- Experience with property management software preferred, AppFolio, Quick Books Online
