Responsibilities:
Job Summary:

The Provider Network Database Specialist is responsible for maintaining and ensuring the accuracy of the provider network database, facilitating the electronic exchange of information across systems, and supporting accurate reporting for internal and external stakeholders. This role analyzes data from enrollment systems and payer rosters, ensures providers are correctly listed with all applicable payers, and identifies discrepancies requiring resolution. The Specialist serves as a key partner to IT, Credentialing & Enrollment, and other departments, helping to ensure smooth operations and regulatory compliance. This position reports to the Director of Credentialing & Enrollment.

Duties/Responsibilities:

 Collect, manage, and distribute provider, payer, contract, and related data in accordance with established guidelines.
 Analyze data from the enrollment software application to ensure accuracy and communicate findings to Director of Credentialing & Enrollment and other departments as requested.
 Gather and review payer rosters to ensure all Anne Arundel Dermatology providers are correctly listed with applicable payers across all states.
 Report data discrepancies to the Director of Credentialing & Enrollment and collaborate on resolutions.
 Continuously monitor payer rosters to ensure provider listings remain active, and validate accurate removal of terminated providers.
 Input, validate, and maintain provider data in various systems, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
 Execute custom reports and queries to support internal departments and external requirements.
 Maintain proficiency in data warehouse tools, SQL reporting, and other data analysis platforms.
 Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Required Skills/Abilities:

 Strong technical skills in data collection, analysis, and reporting (SQL, Excel, or similar tools preferred).
 Understanding of database management principles, data integrity, and system processes.
 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen eye for detail.
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
 Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
 Ability to handle moderately complex issues and escalate more complex problems appropriately.
 High level of integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Licensure/Certifications/Education:
Education and Experience:

 Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
 2–4 years of experience in a healthcare setting, with exposure to provider enrollment, credentialing, or network management preferred.
 Experience working with data warehouse systems, SQL reporting, or related platforms is strongly preferred.
 Familiarity with payer rosters and provider network requirements is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
 Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
