Qualifications:
Must meet and maintain QMHP-CS definition per TMHP regarding education, experience and continuing education; must have working knowledge of the areas of need for youth who are at risk for out of home placement due to mental or behavioral instability; must have appropriate clinical skills to facilitate training and coping skills building for youth who are at risk for out of home placement and their families; must be able to work from a person-centered framework when providing clinical services; must have clinical interviewing skills; must have understanding or ability to train in appropriate clinical interventions; must be able to identify clinical risk factors for suicide, violence and other risky behaviors.
*Bilingual: Spanish Speaking is a plus!!!!
A valid Driver’s License is also required for employment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide supportive services in the client’s residence, school or community for 2-6 hours per week based upon the needs of the individual
- Provide individual and family sessions
- Provide training to increase appropriate communication skills, problem solving, anger management and interpersonal interactions in the home
- Work to support the client in preventing out of home placement
- Link all clients with outpatient therapy and other necessary wraparound services
- Engage the parent/guardian in services with family sessions provided at least once per week
- Collaborate with wraparound service providers through service coordination efforts that is documented in the client record
- Complete daily progress notes, quarterly progress reviews, discharge reports, service authorization reports, crisis plans, incident reports and other case documentation according to agency procedures
- Ensure that service documentation is individualized based upon the needs and progress of the individual
Requirements
- A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required. A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a minimum number of hours that are equivalent to a major in psychology, social work, medicine, nursing, rehabilitation, counseling, sociology, human growth and development, physician assistant, gerontology, special education, educational psychology, early childhood education, or early childhood intervention; licensure or certification as a Qualified Professional is preferred.
- Proven experience in addiction counseling, clinical counseling, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with PTSD care and trauma-informed practices is essential.
- The ability to develop effective treatment plans based on individual client needs.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- A compassionate approach to care that respects the dignity of each patient while promoting their overall well-being.
