Crisis Worker Description: Provide direct service that assists with deescalating the severity of a client's level of distress and/or need for urgent care associated with a mental health and/or substance use disorder to avoid psychiatric hospitalization or further decompensation. Provide Crisis Stabilization to individuals 18 years and older. Responsible for development and implementation of individualized services plans in accordance with program description.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct services to clients, including linkage, advocating, supporting, and providing education as needed.
- Respond to crisis situations within 24 hours.
- Recommend and Link clients with appropriate external programs or services, such as health services, recreational activities, childcare services, financial resources, employment resources, childcare, AA/NA groups, transportation resources, and others
- Collaborate and coordinate with other service providers and professionals, such as attorneys, social workers, and probation/parole officers.
- Complete all progress notes and reports in a timely fashion and provide accurate time sheets.
- Assure client is informed of his/her human rights.
- Maintain weekly contact with referring agency.
- Conduct discharge planning in accordance with program description.
- Attend all meetings as required.
- Advise Clinical Director of the state of clinical services, its staff, and its needs and solicits his assistance in implementing solutions to problems.
- Serves as an active member of the on-call crisis team
- Communicate with team members consistently throughout the duration of the case.
- Maintain consistent contact with client for duration of services
- Utilize resources and assistance provided from supervisors and cohorts

Minimum Qualifications: Must hold at minimum a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Human Services to include social work ,gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, criminal justice and human services counseling, or a related field from an accredited college or university. Experience providing mental health services and case management to individuals suffering from a mental illness for at least one year. Master’s Degree is preferred. All applicants must be registered with the Board of Counseling as a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP, QMHP- Trainee, QMHP-C)
This position also requires a valid driver’s license, automobile and telecommunications availability, excellent verbal and written skills; counseling and social work theories and techniques; and community resources. Strong writing and case conceptualization skills and reference to a methodological. The successful completion of a criminal history or background investigation is required.
