Quality Assurance Specialist

Pay Range: $27.00hr - $28.00hr Job

Overview

The Project Management Office is seeking a Computer Support Specialist to perform Quality Assurance testing.

Responsibilities

Developing test plans. Writing detailed test cases based on project requirements. Performing manual testing of applications. Identifying and documenting bugs in the Jira environment. Validating fixes by retesting identified bugs. Designing and executing manual and automated test plans for new features and releases. Building and maintaining a regression test suite to catch issues before they reach production. Performing exploratory testing to catch edge cases automated tests may miss. Partnering with engineers early in the development process to define acceptance criteria and testable requirements. Tracking, prioritizing, and reporting on defects to ensure timely resolution. Establishing QA metrics (defect escape rate, test coverage, time-to-detect) to measure quality improvements over time.

Qualifications

Proof of eligibility to work in NYS. 3+ years of experience using Jira for test management or bug tracking. 5+ years of experience performing unit, integration, UAT, regression, and system testing. 2+ years of experience performing QA testing on Agile projects. 5+ years of experience writing test scripts. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to pay attention to detail.
