Overview
We are seeking a Quality Control Chemist to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing team. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality, safety, and compliance of our drug products through analytical testing and strict adherence to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience, familiarity with quality control testing, and the ability to operate and maintain advanced analytical instruments.
Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing on in-process materials, finished pharmaceutical products, and stability samples following approved SOPs and specifications
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain analytical equipment including HPLC, GC, FTIR, UV-Vis spectrophotometer, pH meter, viscometer, and analytical balances
- Conduct method validation and assist in the development, review, and revision of controlled quality documents
- Receive, sample, test, and release raw materials, packaging components, and labels in accordance with approved specifications
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, logbooks, and equipment usage logs in compliance with GLP and cGMP
- Monitor and record control data for water systems, stability charts, and environmental temperature controls
- Follow and implement company SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure GMP compliance
- Accurately document all activities in real-time, maintaining compliance with FDA and industry guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree (completed or in progress) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline
- High school diploma with at least 2 years of quality control laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry may be considered
- Combination of technical training and relevant laboratory experience will also be considered
- Experience with pharmaceutical testing methods and analytical laboratory equipment
- Knowledge of cGMP, GLP, and ISO quality standards
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to maintain accurate documentation
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting laboratory instruments used in pharmaceutical quality testing
