Position Overview:
This position has the responsibility to support our projects in all aspects of Quality. The Quality Control Coordinator is a resource to our projects, monitors compliance, provides training, investigates incidents, and performs regular audits. The Quality Control Coordinator reports to the Quality Manager.
Essential Functions - The individual in this role must be able to perform the essential functions of the role, and meet the following occupational demands, with or without a reasonable accommodation:
- Understand, follow, and enforce the requirements laid out in the Quality Management Plan, our customer specifications, and all applicable regulations and standards, consistent with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
- Champion the use of new processes or technology to reduce rework and help manage documentation and work with Management for implementation.
- Ensure the quality system is established, communicated, and implemented by all persons doing work that impacts quality.
- Acts as a resource to the project team and subcontractors.
- Works with field leaders to identify and correct non-conformances or potential quality issues.
- Conducts new employee quality training, including an overview of the Quality Management Plan, appropriate processes, and documentation when applicable.
- Provide support and assistance for all quality needs and be a resource for all projects while acting in an office support role.
- Travel to performs formal, documented project quality audits. Reviews all audit findings with project leadership including the Field Leader and Project Manager.
- Immediately report all non-conformances using the reporting process.
- For all projects assigned, thoroughly investigates all non-conformances, document findings and share with the UPI Team across projects/departments.
- Weekly review and audit construction reports including but not limited to ITP’s, Receiving Reports, Torque Reports, Coating/Painting Reports, Weld Logs, Redlines, Quality Drawings, and Hydrotest Reports.
- Work with our customer’s quality representatives in a professional and cooperative manner.
- As a leader, mentor all those acting/performing tasks in a quality role.

Work Environment:
- Office, job-site office, or field environment (variable)
- 50% office, 50% field
- Job-site office and field environments may include loud noise, dirt and dust, reduced climate control, exposure to weather, and the need to wear protective clothing and/or PPE
Physical Demands – The individual in this role must be able to meet the following occupational demands:
- Working on a computer for 2+ consecutive hours
- Standing for long periods of time, often in weather or low or high temperatures
- Climbing up and down ladders and into and out of ditches or trenches
- Crouching and moving under overhead hazards or around pipe in a trench
Position Type & Expected Hours of Work:
- This role has the option to work a combination of the hours remotely and in the office with your supervisor’s discretion.
- Occasional evening and weekend hours are to be expected.
Travel Requirements:
- This role will require frequent travel, including by air.
Required or Preferred Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years’ experience in working within a quality system
- Preferred certification in Quality Assurance.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Bluebeam, and willing and able to learn new and different software and internet-based platforms.
Compensation Information:
The salary range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000, depending on experience.
