Purpose of Role
The purpose of this role is to support production by performing various tasks to validate we are meeting internal and external customer requirements. The Quality Assurance Technician maintains quality excellence of our products while working safely with production and management teams.
Shift Hours: Sun-Tues 6:00am-6:30pm; Weds 6:00am-12:30pm
Areas of Accountabilities
Drive Safety as your number one priority
- Be an active contributor to our safety culture by setting a great example and following all safety procedures. This includes understanding our Plan to Zero.
- Understanding how to perform injury reporting and the steps to be followed.
- Promote and participate in 5S workplace organization efforts. Actively support and help implement plant safety programs and initiatives.
Follow our Quality Assurance processes to help the plant meet or exceed our QES score of 99.5%
- Ensure all products that are produced meet all customer requirements & expectations by effectively measuring and recording key part dimensions and visual attributes multiple times per shift using approved tools (calipers, gauges, fixtures, etc.).
- Compare results against the documented PQS for the parts being measured and inspected.
- Immediately alert the Shift Manager as well as the Quality Manager to any non-conforming material. Following the NCP process, document, isolate and properly tag suspect or non-conforming products for proper disposition.
- Submit First Part Approval (FPA) through spotlight per procedures.
- Complete and document dimensional inspection checks at 4-hour intervals for each product running into the Excel data log.
- Conduct and document, via Microsoft Forms, In-process visual inspections on parts at the press a minimum of three times per shift. Look for surface defects, flash, contamination, discoloration, and other visual non-conformances. Document findings and take immediate action if abnormalities are observed (NCP).
- Provide clear written and/or verbal shift-change handoffs to other Quality Technicians. Include key quality concerns, corrective actions, and successes.
- Send out the Daily shift report.
- Notify Quality manager of any discrepancies between QC log and PQS to be corrected.
- Understand/read our PQSs, Rehrig Doc Con, and SOPs/WIs on your training matrix.
- Maintaining workstations with PQS, OIS, and Quality notes as needed.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing or quality control environment preferred
- Proficiency in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
- Basic knowledge of Email, Excel, Word, & Teams
- Ability to prioritize and manage daily responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Basic knowledge of quality systems and documentation
- Experience in injection molding or plastics manufacturing preferred
- Familiarity with ISO 9001, GMPs, Food Safety Requirements or other quality standards is a plus
