Overview
We are seeking an innovative, hands-on R&D Project Supervisor to lead all Research & Development efforts within our company. This critical role is responsible for overseeing the design, prototyping, and testing of new product concepts as well as improvements to existing lines. The ideal candidate will combine analytical acumen, CAD design expertise, and a high level of creativity with practical, production-floor sensibilities. This role will also lead all efforts related to CNC manufacturing and must possess a background in CNC operation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all R&D initiatives from concept through execution, including planning, design, prototyping, and testing.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and leadership to drive product innovation and feasibility.
- Develop detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and product concepts using Fusion 360 or similar CAD platforms.
- Supervise and participate in hands-on prototype creation, testing, and refinement.
- Identify and solve design or production challenges with a creative and analytical approach.
- Implement new build processes on the CNC machine and lead CNC operation efforts.
- Research materials, processes, and emerging technologies to apply to new products.
- Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timelines and goals are met.
- Maintain clear documentation of development processes, specifications, and revisions.
- Communicate project progress regularly with the President and other stakeholders.
- Support a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and practical problem-solving.
