RECEIVING CLERK
SUMMARY
This position will assist each functional group (packaging, non-corrugated material, quality assurance, and production) in tasks related to receiving, inspecting and recording shipments and become familiar with the core process of each group. Successfully interact with internal and external customers and suppliers with superior customer service ability.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Unload packages and checking their content for accuracy, and assisting in the management of inventory
- Serve as back up to procurement team members, and assist in logistics and procurement when needed
- Develop and maintain relationships with assigned suppliers and customers including knowledge of their needs and requirements
- Collaborate with many areas of the organization to ensure the highest quality of data and information sharing
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system
- Maintains receiving, warehouse and distribution
- Conduct inventory on monthly labels and miscellaneous items
- Support production as needed regarding inventory and printing load tags
- Process all inbound miscellaneous freight, labels, tag and enter into SAP and/or other data storage system
- Operate Forklift, or other hand trucks to move items in warehouse and/or production area
- Maintain exceptional safety record and model safe behavior
- Additional duties may be assigned by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED
At least 1 year in a manufacturing environment
Ideal candidate will be currently enrolled, or willing to continue their education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or relevant field
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Able to read and follow instructions
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate
Able to apply concepts of high school math
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form
Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations
TECHNICAL SKILLS
The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:
Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation
Product layouts and production specifications
Product quality specifications
Quality standards
Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a group
Knowledge of manufacturing services and supply chain including basic manufacturing concepts highly preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
