Job Overview
The Receiving Warehouse Associate is responsible for efficiently and accurately receiving incoming shipments, verifying their contents, and inspecting products for damage or discrepancies. This role ensures that all materials are correctly labeled, stored, and documented according to company procedures. The Receiving Warehouse Associate plays a critical part in maintaining accurate inventory records and supports the overall logistics and supply chain operations by preparing received items for stock or distribution.
Duties
- Accurately enter data, information of parts, all documents, and other information into ERP System (Avsight) for inventory control.
- Work independently and under pressure, while multitasking.
- Processes shipping and receiving documents and parts.
- Build boxes to ship parts, loads and unload trucks in the warehouse.
- Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments
- Assist with shipping packages to vendors, customers, repair facilities.
- Locate and pull parts for inventory/shipping.
- Verify and maintain records on incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Documents damages and discrepancies for future reimbursement and reconciliation
- Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
- Performs any other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- 1-2 years warehouse or shipping/receiving experience
- Basic computer literacy (for inventory systems).
- Forklift Certification or able to obtain within 30 days of employment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or inventory software to maintain records, input data, and create reports.
- Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
- Ability to accurately sort, count, and verify items received.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Lift heavy objects (up to 50-70 pounds), stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
- Work 50% of the time in the warehouse and the other 50% in an office environment.
Preferred Skills
- FedEx/UPS/ DHL/ Freight forwarder systems experience
- International shipping experience
- Knowledge in Aviation and FAA guidelines
- Government receiving/shipping process and procedures
