JOB SUMMARY: Answers inquiries and obtains information for general public, consumers, visitors and other interested parties. May assist with other general clerical duties
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Greets consumers and visitors, determines nature of business and directs them appropriately
- Answers, screens and directs incoming calls
- Maintains visitor log
- Provides callers with information about agency/program services
- Listens to and assists with resolving simple customer complaints
- Performs basic data entry/word processing, as required
- Transmits information or documents using computer, mail or fax machine
- Assists with other general clerical duties, as required
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: Knowledge of principals of customer service; knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems; active listening skills; oral/written communication skills; service orientation skills; basic telephone skills; basic data entry skills; knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
