Position Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Recruiter/Coordinator to join our Harvey, LA team. This role is central to maintaining and growing our workforce. The Recruiter/Coordinator will source, screen, and onboard skilled labor candidates while coordinating with client companies to meet their staffing requirements. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring strong organizational skills, and have the drive to grow our employee base.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment & Sourcing
- Identify, attract, and recruit skilled labor candidates (heavy equipment operators, pipe layers, welders, fitters, general laborers and more) for shipyards, construction projects, warehouses, and stevedoring clients.
- Post job openings on various platforms and proactively source candidates through databases, referrals, and networking.
- Conduct initial screenings, interviews, and reference checks.
- Coordination & Onboarding
- Manage the candidate pipeline and ensure timely placements with client companies.
- Oversee onboarding, paperwork, compliance, and orientation for new hires.
- Maintain accurate employee records using ATS (Applicant Tracking System) software.
- Client & Workforce Relations
- Communicate with client companies to understand staffing needs and provide suitable candidates.
- Build and maintain relationships with employees to ensure retention and satisfaction.
- Coordinate work schedules, resolve issues, and support employees throughout assignments.
- Administrative & Operational Support
- Utilize computer systems and ATS software to manage job postings, candidate flow, and reporting.
- Assist with payroll coordination and weekly pay processing as needed.
- Support overall office operations in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Required
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume recruiting environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset.
- Preferred
- Previous experience with ATS software or other recruiting platforms.
- Prior recruiting or staffing agency experience.
- Knowledge of the skilled trades or industrial labor industries.
- Bilingual is a plus*
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
