Compensation: $17.39 hourly

Pay starts at $17.39/hr., then staff enter the Kansas Registered Apprentice Program the beginning of the year after hire where pay increases at the end of the first year, and again at the end of the second year.

The Kansas Registered Apprentice Program is a structured training program where staff gain specific skills and competencies enabling them to fill multiple roles within the workforce system.

Position Summary & Responsibilities

Position Summary:

This is technical work interviewing clients to obtain information needed to determine potential eligibility for training programs, job referrals and other program services. Th Reemployment Navigator will perform a variety of office duties requiring knowledge of procedures, basic math, and recordkeeping. Communicates effectively, follows written and oral instructions, and ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws. Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to work well with others.

The position is located at the Wichita Workforce Center in Sedgwick County, KS

Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provides early intervention Reemployment Services, to beneficiaries identified by the Kansas Department of Labor (KDOL) Worker Profiling and Reemployment Services (WPRS) system as “likely to exhaust.” Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefits.
  • Processes information obtained from various sources into KANSASWORKS.com
  • Communicates on a regular basis with UI and other partners regarding the progress of the beneficiary towards suitable and meaningful employment.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Licensing & Certification: Valid Drivers License

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One year of experience interacting with clients, customers, or the public in a social service, customer service or problem resolution setting.

(12 credit hours of course work at the post-secondary level in social services, human services or a related field may be substituted for the one year of experience.)

  • Ability to travel to communities throughout the local area or other assigned locales.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Prefer one year of experience working with job seekers in a recruitment or job coaching environment, or previous experience working with Unemployment Benefits.
    Related experience may include Human Resources work, Vocational Rehabilitation counseling, etc.
