Who We’re Looking For
The Regional Training Specialist serves a key function in the agency’s Training Institute, providing training and consultation to programs across all regions to support the clinical model. Trainings include a chief focus on clinical, programmatic, and leadership development training to staff and programs. Additional requirements include the ability to interface with training software, and the capacity to manage administrative tasks like training registration, evaluation, and coordination. This person has responsibility for the scheduling, planning, support, development, and implementation of clinical and management training. In addition, this person serves to support fidelity and treatment integrity of the agency clinical model through consultative clinical supervision support and training aftercare for staff and programs.
Additional responsibilities include, but are not limited to, supporting the implementation of evidence-based treatment interventions; effectively collaborating with program staff and external partners; and developing new or improved training curricula where applicable.
Work is performed with considerable independence in accordance with established regulations, policies and procedures. Work is reviewed and supervised by the Chief Clinical Officer to whom this individual reports.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Must be able to travel.
- Treat all clients and staff with dignity and respect.
- Provide on-going regional training to staff and programs with fidelity to the treatment model.
- Implement the training of standardized curricula that supports long-term recovery.
- Provide staff development opportunities that support the agency treatment model that is evidence-based, gender-responsive, trauma-informed, and culturally-competent.
- Conduct and/or coordinate agency trainings related to improving the clinical skills of counseling staff in both individual and group settings.
- Develop training curriculum for approval by the Chief Clinical Officer for agency-wide training roll-out.
- Provide post-training support sessions to staff and programs to promote program integrity and fidelity models.
- Run reports to evaluate the completion and compliance rate of training completion.
- Interface with training to execute remote, virtual and live training opportunities for staff.
- Review treatment delivery in the agency to ensure fidelity to best practices.
- Collaborate with CQI and Compliance Departments to reduce/eliminate staff training deficits from Plans of Correction.
- Provide consistent focus on quality of services and progress toward goals.
- Complete reports regarding training scheduling, completion and evaluation.
- Participate in any other assigned committee.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
- Skilled facilitator in evidence-based treatment models.
- Thorough knowledge of treatment, therapeutic, rehabilitative, and prevention techniques including, but not limited to: substance use disorder(s), mental health disorder(s), trauma-informed-care, and criminogenic risk factors.
- Thorough knowledge of staff development and training programs to ensure regulatory, licensing, and accreditation compliance.
- Knowledge and ability to deliver program curricula, inclusive of staff / agency training, to ensure fidelity of treatment interventions.
- Effective communication skills, both orally and written, in order to convey information and earn the respect and authority necessary to achieve implementation of the treatment model along with a commitment to achieve the goals and objectives of the position.
- Thorough knowledge of training, education, and curriculum development.
- Ability to provide clinical supervision and support to programs regarding fidelity of the treatment model.
- Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and programs.
- Ability to evaluate programs and staff effectiveness.
- Ability to speak and write effectively and use information technology and computer assisted learning.
- Demonstrate an understanding of training software, inclusive of reporting features, virtual and live classroom models, and remote learning and administrative tasks of scheduling and recording training.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in substance use disorders, psychology, social work, counseling, or public administration, plus specialized training in the training and education of adults, & continuous quality improvement
Experience: 5 years in progressively responsible and varied program management and multi-site training in adult education in a public or private organization, including experience in training education and quality improvement
