The Safety & Sanitation Team Member plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for guests and staff at The Wharf Fish & Oyster Company. This position ensures that all health and safety standards are met, contributing to a high-quality dining experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and committed to upholding cleanliness and safety in all areas of the restaurant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations, including local health department standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, dining areas, restrooms, and outdoor spaces, including the beach.
- Prevent cross-contamination by following proper food handling, cleaning, and sanitation protocols.
- Properly handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals and sanitation supplies according to safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular deep-cleaning tasks and ensure proper disposal of waste and recyclables.
- Monitor and report any potential safety hazards or sanitation issues to management.
- Support kitchen and service staff in maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
- Assist in training new team members on sanitation and safety procedures.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to maintain cleanliness and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a busser, safety, sanitation, or janitorial role preferred.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation standards, and safety procedures.
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume restaurant or food service environment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to stay organized while managing multiple tasks.
- Must be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors in varying conditions.
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
