Cairo's Kitchen is hiring dedicated, customer-oriented Restaurant Associates for both our fast-casual restaurant and, OPTIONALLY, our Saturday booth at the Kalamazoo Farmers Market. We offer competitive pay, flexible scheduling, and clear paths to leadership.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests and deliver warm, efficient service
- Take and prepare food orders with speed and accuracy
- Operate the Square POS, handle cash and card transactions
- Maintain top-tier cleanliness and food-safety standards
- Restock supplies so the line (and the market booth) never slows down
- Set up, run, and break down our farmers-market booth every Saturday (load/unload food and equipment, serve guests, keep the space spotless)
- Work as a positive, respectful team player—whether in the restaurant or at the market
- Prep ingredients, cook menu items, and uphold Cairo’s quality standards
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality
- Comfortable with Square POS and basic cash-handling math
- Solid grasp of food-safety and sanitation best practices
- Able to thrive in a fast-paced setting and on your feet outdoors
- Friendly, proactive communication skills
- Must be available for Saturday shifts (roughly 6 AM–3 PM) during farmers-market season
- Bonus points for food-prep or upselling experience
