Ruidoso Trading Post is seeking a passionate and experienced Store Manager to lead our historic Native American jewelry and art store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, delivering exceptional customer service, managing a knowledgeable team, and maintaining the integrity and quality our customers expect. This role requires a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and a deep appreciation for Native American craftsmanship and culture.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of store operations to ensure a smooth, customer-focused experience.
- Lead, train, and manage team members to achieve performance goals.
- Drive sales through effective merchandising, product knowledge, and customer engagement strategies.
- Handle hiring, onboarding, and scheduling to maintain a strong and reliable team.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels, manage restocking, and oversee quality control of high-value jewelry and stones.
- Foster a positive, respectful work environment that promotes collaboration and accountability.
- Resolve customer concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
- Uphold store policies, security procedures, and safety standards.
- Represent the Ruidoso Trading Post brand and legacy with integrity and pride.
Skills
- Proven leadership experience in retail, ideally in jewelry, art, or specialty goods.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in team supervision, shift management, and staff development.
- Background in sales strategy and inventory management; knowledge of retail math is a plus.
- Appreciation for Native American culture and art; previous experience in related retail a major advantage.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Reliable, professional, and enthusiastic about creating an exceptional shopping experience.
