Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse - Admissions to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for the initial assessment and admission of patients into our facility, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care from the moment they arrive. You will play a crucial role in coordinating patient care and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments upon admission, including medical history and current health status.
- Provide primary care and patient care, ensuring all patients are comfortable and informed during their admission process.
- Administer IV infusions and medications as prescribed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Perform laboratory tests as needed and interpret results to inform care decisions.
- Triage patients effectively to prioritize care based on urgency and need.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for each patient.
- Educate patients and their families about treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Provide specialized care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments when necessary.
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Experience in a teaching hospital or similar healthcare setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of primary care practices and patient care protocols.
- Proficiency in IV infusion techniques and medication administration.
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and triage processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient education.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong organizational skills.
